Current Coaching and Training Credentials:
Rob has been studying martial arts since he was 13. Since that time, Rob has spent the majority of it cross training in many different arts to include Karate, Krav Maga, Kung Fu, Muay Thai, Catch Wrestling, Judo and BJJ. For eight years, Rob served as a United States Marine, during which time he trained in and was taught combative arts: hand-to-hand combat and weapons usage.
Rob holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate under Renshi Mike Pinelli and a Black Sash in Lama Pai Kung Fu training under Sigung Steve Ventura. He currently holds a (Shodan) Black Belt in Judo and a Brown Belt in BJJ under Professor Mark Staniszewski.
Rob firmly believes martial arts gives students structure in discipline, motivation, and physical fitness, but the main goal is to learn how to protect yourself and others using practical application. Rob’s goal as a teacher and coach is to ensure that this lesson is always a focus of his classes. Learning should be fun, but it should also be highly productive.
Barry defines what it is to be a true martial artist. He is a wealth of knowledge and an all-around great guy. His greatest accomplishments are his sons Barry Jr. and Nicholas, two talented judo black belts, who he continues to mentor in the roles of both Sensei, and dad.

Sensei Nick Roseto is an accomplished judo black belt and longtime judoka under the late Sensei Hiroyuki Yamashita, 8th dan. Sensei Yamashita opened the Waseda Judo dojo back in 1968, and in 1999, he turned the dojo over to Nick. Nick, together with his beloved father Frank, continued the Waseda traditions that made it the most prestigious judo academy on Long Island.
We are honored to have Sensei Nick as part of our team, and vow to help keep the Waseda Judo spirit alive for generations to come.
Joe Prizzi began his judo journey back in 1968, and his dedication to training and teaching continues today. He is a head instructor at Smithtown Judo and a regular guest at the Seaford Judo & BJJ. Joe is a former Empire State Games team coach, and currently holds a 5th degree black belt in judo.
